Commercial Catering Service Engineer
ESG Tech Serv Ltd is looking for an experienced Commercial Catering Field Service Engineer to join our growing service team, covering Glasgow and Ayrshire areas.
We specialise in the maintenance, repair and support of commercial catering equipment for a wide range of customers. This role will focus on commercial electric catering equipment only — no gas work required.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong electrical or mechanical experience who enjoys fault finding, working independently, and delivering high standards of customer service in a field\-based role.
Position Overview
As a Commercial Catering Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and completing repairs on a range of commercial catering equipment.
You will work directly with customers on\-site, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard. The ideal candidate will be reliable, technically capable, organised, and comfortable managing their own workload while representing the company professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance on commercial catering equipment.
- Attend breakdowns and complete fault finding and repairs.
- Work on commercial electric catering equipment, including specialist equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate service records and job reports.
- Provide a professional and helpful service to customers.
- Manage daily workload and travel between customer sites.
- Communicate effectively with service coordinators, customers and other engineers.
- Take part in OEM and in\-house training to continue developing technical skills.
- Previous experience in an engineering, field service, electrical or mechanical role.
- Strong fault\-finding skills.
- Electrical experience or mechanical experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Professional, reliable and safety\-conscious approach.
- F\-Gas refrigeration qualification or refrigeration experience.
- Previous experience working on commercial catering equipment.
- Experience in a mobile field service role.
- Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
