The Role

This is a dual\-function position created to support the growth of Waterman Tree Company at a critical stage

of our commercial development. You will sit at the heart of the business — keeping our operations running

smoothly and actively driving new commercial revenue by identifying and converting opportunities with

principal contractors and commercial clients.

This is not a passive role. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates with

confidence, and understands the construction and principal contractor sector — or is hungry to learn it. If

What You'll Do

Administration \& Operations

  • Manage day\-to\-day administrative functions including correspondence, document control, filing, and
record\-keeping
  • Support the Operations Manager with scheduling, job coordination, and client communication

  • Maintain our management system registers and assist with compliance documentation

  • Handle incoming enquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Assist with supplier and subcontractor liaison as required
Business Development \& Commercial Growth Proactively identify and contact principal contractors, housing associations, and commercial clients to

introduce WTC's services

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of commercial opportunities across our operating regions

  • Attend site visits, pre\-qualification meetings, and client introductions where required

  • Support the preparation of tender submissions, capability statements, and client presentations

  • Track leads, conversion rates, and client activity, reporting to the Managing Director
Commission Structure

Your commercial efforts are directly rewarded. For every client you bring to WTC, you earn 5% of the value

of each invoice raised for work completed for that client — with a £500 lifetime commission cap per client.

There is no cap on the number of clients you can win. The more clients you bring in, the more you earn.

Structure Trigger Earning Potential

5% of client invoice value On work invoiced \& completed £500 lifetime cap per client

Unlimited clients No annual earnings cap No limit on new client wins

Example: You introduce 20 commercial clients in your first year. Each generates £500 in commission. That's

£10,000 in commission on top of your base salary — entirely in your hands.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in administration, coordination, or business development — ideally within construction or trades but not essential.

  • Knowledge of the principal contractor sector and how supply chain relationships work — preferred
but not essential; full training provided
  • Confident, professional telephone and written communication skills

  • Organised, thorough, and able to manage multiple workstreams without dropping the ball.

  • A genuine interest in the arboricultural industry and what we do — this matters to us

  • Self\-motivated with a commercial mindset and the drive to maximise your earning potential

  • Comfortable with social media and general business software; experience with CRM systems an advantage.
