Coffee Shop Assistant Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Coffee Shop Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional customer service at 60 Degrees Coffee. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a background in food and beverage service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant team in a busy coffee shop environment, with responsibilities spanning staff supervision, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the coffee shop team, including baristas and kitchen staff


• Oversee food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards


• Manage the ordering and stock control of ingredients and supplies


• Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and resolving any issues promptly


• Organise staff rotas, training schedules, and performance appraisals


• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work environment in compliance with health regulations


• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to enhance revenue


• Support the onboarding of new team members, providing training on food production, serving, and hospitality standards


• Work closely with the Manager

• Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting


• Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively


• Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations


• Experience in food safety protocols and maintaining hygiene standards


• Familiarity with restaurant or hotel environments is desirable


• Barista experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specialised coffee techniques


• Knowledge of culinary practices, food production processes, and hospitality industry standards is highly valued
