Residential Support Worker – Aaura Care

All positions are subject to a robust safer recruitment process, including enhanced DBS checks, reference verification, scrutiny of employment history and thorough interviews designed to identify any gaps or inconsistencies in employment records.
At Aaura, we believe that great outcomes for young people are achieved by supporting and investing in our staff. We provide comprehensive training, regular supervision and ongoing development opportunities to ensure our teams are equipped to deliver high\-quality therapeutic suppotr. All Residential Support Workers will be expected to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) if not already qualified.
We provide support for young people aged 7 to 17 who may have experienced trauma, adversity and disruption in their lives. As a result, some young people may present behaviours that require patience, resilience, understanding and a therapeutic approach.
Shift Pattern
The Residential Support Worker role follows a 2\-on, 4\-off shift pattern, consisting of two full days including sleep\-ins, followed by handover the next morning and four days off.
Driving Requirement
All staff must be willing and able to drive company vehicles to transport young people to education, activities, appointments, family contact and community\-based opportunities. A full UK manual driving licence is therefore essential.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Encouraging participation in activities, hobbies, education and sports.
- Supporting young people to develop independence and essential life skills.
- Delivering support using a trauma\-informed and therapeutic approach.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Supporting young people to attend family contact and maintain important relationships.
- Assisting with household tasks and helping to maintain a safe, welcoming home environment.
- Contributing to high quality paperwork, including daily records and other required documentation.
- Working as part of a team to provide consistent, high\-quality support.
- Safeguarding young people and reporting any concerns in accordance with Aaura policies and procedures.

Experience within children's residential care is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
