Are you an experienced residential childcare professional looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can make a real difference?
We are looking for a passionate and committed Senior Support Worker to join our family\-run NEW children’s residential homes in Burton on Trent.
You’ll play a key role in providing high\-quality, therapeutic care to young people with complex needs, while also taking responsibility for supporting and mentoring a small team of Residential Support Workers.
With small homes and typically 1–2 young people per home, you’ll have the time and opportunity to build strong relationships and provide truly personalised support.
The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will:
- Lead, supervise, and support a small team of Residential Support Workers.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Provide consistent, nurturing, and individualised care.
- Support young people with their daily routines, activities, education, and appointments.
- Promote safeguarding, welfare, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Respond to challenging behaviour using positive, consistent, and therapeutic approaches.
- Contribute to care plans, reviews, risk assessments, and multi\-agency meetings.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and daily documentation.
- Help ensure the home is safe, welcoming, and well maintained.
- Support household duties and the smooth day\-to\-day running of the home.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or is currently working towards the qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience within a children’s residential care setting.
- Experience supporting young people with ASC, mental health, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills.
- The confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A clean enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required checks.

- Hours: 8am to 11pm, followed with sleep in on every shift
