What You’ll Do
As an experienced Residential Childcare Worker, you’ll be part of a caring, professional team that places young people at the heart of everything we do.
Your role will include:
- Acting as a positive role model for young people and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and warmth.
- Providing personalised care that meets each child’s emotional, physical, and educational needs.
- Supporting young people through challenges with empathy, patience, and consistency.
- Contributing to care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures and the Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Supporting the daily running of the home — including activity planning, reporting, and liaising with families and professionals.
- Encouraging young people to take part in activities that build confidence, independence, and joy.
We are seeking experienced Children’s Residential Workers who have a strong background in care and bring a trauma\-informed, therapeutic approach to their practice. In line with the PACE approach, we are looking for individuals who prioritise empathy, curiosity, acceptance, and playfulness in their interactions with children and young people.
Successful candidates will be committed to putting children at the centre of everything they do, supporting them to heal from past adversity, build trusting relationships, and develop the confidence and skills needed to find their place in the world.
You’ll bring:
- A genuine love for supporting young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
- A calm, empathetic, and trauma\-informed approach to care.
- Resilience and emotional intelligence when faced with challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A desire to learn and grow within a supportive organisation.
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards it.
- 1–2 years’ experience working with children or young people in care, education, or support settings.
- Understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant childcare legislation.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
