We are seeking passionate Children's Residential Support Workers to join our team. This role involves providing compassionate care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the emotional, social, and developmental needs of children. This is a position for people who have a genuine passion for making a positive difference in young lives and are committed to delivering high\-quality childcare.
Supporting the Needs of Children and Young People
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, ensuring their safety, rights, and wellbeing were consistently prioritised in all decisions and daily practice.
- Identify and report unsafe practices or conditions immediately, maintaining a culture of vigilance and regulatory compliance.
- Promote structure, boundaries, and predictable routines to create a safe, nurturing, and emotionally containing environment.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professional conduct, emotional regulation, and pro‑social behaviour for young people and colleagues.
- Deliver and support targeted intervention strategies to encourage pro‑social behaviour, emotional resilience, and positive decision‑making.
- Complete direct, individual work with young people, tailored to their needs, goals, and care plans, ensuring their voice and experiences shaped the support provided.
- Facilitate group and project‑based work, promoting social skills, teamwork, confidence, and engagement.
- Plan and participate n meaningful leisure activities, aligned with each young person’s care and placement plan, supporting their interests, development, and community inclusion.
- Support young people to build resilience, independence, and practical life skills, preparing them for adulthood in line with their care plans and long‑term outcomes.
- Experience in children’s residential care or related settings is advantageous, but not required for the right person.
- A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people is the most important quality.
- Individuals who bring empathy, resilience, and a commitment to safeguarding can develop the rest through training and support.
- Full training is provided to build confidence in therapeutic approaches, behaviour support, safeguarding, and regulatory expectations.

- A willingness to work as part of a team, reflect on practice, and engage in continuous development is more important than prior sector experience.
