We are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to support the leadership and day\-to\-day management of our children’s residential homes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to delivering outstanding care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Health \& Social Care or Children \& Young People’s Workforce (required)
- Experience in residential childcare (required)
- Strong understanding of Ofsted standards, Safeguarding \& Children's Home legislation (required)
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
- NVQ Level 5 Leadership \& Management in Children's Residential or working towards (preferred)

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead and support the staff team, ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, and create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
You will:
- Support the Registered Manager in ensuring all legal responsibilities relating to the opening, registration, and operation of the homes are effectively fulfilled.
- Lead, supervise, support, and hold staff accountable to ensure high standards of care and professional practice are consistently maintained.
- Ensure children and young people receive care and support in line with the home’s Statement of Purpose, Children’s Guide, care plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop meaningful relationships with children and young people, maintaining a detailed understanding of their individual care plans, risk assessments, and relationship plans.
- Support and manage complex behaviours, promoting positive behaviour management strategies, structured routines, and effective crisis intervention when required.
- Ensure the homes remain fully compliant with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding procedures, and all relevant legislation, implementing updates where necessary.
- Complete regular monitoring, analysis, audits, and reporting to ensure best practice, continuous improvement, and high\-quality service delivery at all times.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the home’s development and improvement plans.
- Attend and contribute to children’s reviews, professionals meetings, management meetings, and lead staff meetings when required.
- Oversee staff performance, training, and development, ensuring all employees are appropriately trained, skilled, and supported through supervision, CPD, and development plans.
- Promote a positive team culture by mentoring and developing staff to achieve high levels of professional practice and performance.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals, and partner organisations to ensure effective support and placement stability for young people.
- Support effective staffing and resource allocation to ensure safe staffing levels and positive placement matching outcomes.
- Ensure the homes are fully prepared for Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44 visits, maintaining high levels of compliance and operational readiness.
- Oversee electronic and paper\-based administration systems, ensuring records, audits, sign\-offs, and documentation are accurate, compliant, and completed within required timescales.
- Assist with recruitment processes and support the management of induction, disciplinary, capability, and grievance procedures in line with company policies.
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual, Directors, Registered Managers, and wider management team to support the ongoing development and success of the service.
- Participate in the on\-call rota across all homes within the organisation on a rolling basis.
- Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Responsible Individual, Directors, or management team.
