Chief Officer (C/O) | Bulkcarrier

OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Officer to join our bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Master to ensure safe navigation, cargo operations and deck management in all trading areas.

• Key responsibilities:


• + Assist the Master with safe navigation, watchkeeping and bridge management

+ Plan and supervise cargo loading, stowage, securing and discharge
+ Lead, train and organize the deck crew in day\-to\-day operations
+ Oversee deck maintenance, hull and equipment upkeep
+ Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company procedures
+ Manage ballast operations and stability calculations
+ Maintain deck stores, equipment inventory and relevant documentation

• Requirements:


• + Valid Chief Officer (Unlimited) license and all required STCW certificates

+ Previous experience as Chief Officer or 1/O on bulk carriers
+ Strong knowledge of cargo handling, stability and deck operations
+ Good leadership, communication and crew management skills
+ Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and travel documents
+ Good English communication skills, written and spoken
