Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health needs such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with medication administration as per care plans and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce distress.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, including first aid protocols.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is beneficial.
- A background in nursing or caregiving is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
- Certification in first aid is an asset but not mandatory; training may be provided. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others through dedicated support and care.
Pay: £13\.00\-£16\.00 per hour
