Cafe Assistant
The Tram Cafe are currently recruiting a Café Assistant on a full time basis in our cafe located in Griffith Park, Dublin 9\.
The Café Assistant is responsible for supporting the day\-to\-day operations of the café, delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming environment for our guests.
Customer Service:
- Providing exceptional service by greeting customers with a friendly attitude.
- Efficiently handling customer orders and complaints, ensuring they are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensuring clear knowledge of all menu items, including allergens, pricing and promotions to assist with customers questions and queries.
- Using upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities by recommending additional items.
- Accurately handling cash and card transactions using the point of sale (POS) system.
- Balancing the till at the end of each shift by counting the cash.
- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages according to the café’s standards.
- Ensuring proper food labelling and storage of food items.
- Adhering strictly to Health \& Safety procedures, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring that all temperature checks are completed as required each day.
- Keeping inside and outside work surfaces, customer tables, seating areas, customer and staff toilets clean and organized throughout the day
- Carrying out deep cleaning tasks for all café equipment and areas, including dishwashers, Merrychef, ice cream machine, bins, fridges, coffee machines, and bathrooms, ensuring all are kept maintained.
- Reporting any faults or issues of equipment to supervisor/manager
- Carrying out daily opening and closing shift responsibilities as per the scheduled roster.
- Responsible for internal kitchen ordering.
- Rotating and organising the stock on site.
- Complying with all company procedures and policies as outlined in the company handbook.
- Any other tasks or duties reasonably requested by the Manager.
- Previous experience in the hospitality sector is an advantage.
- Barista experience is mandatory.
· Ability to work effectively in a team and handle a fast\-paced environment.
· Attention to detail and willingness to learn new tasks.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to handle cash transactions and using a POS system.
· Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Hold a valid permit to work in Ireland.
Job Types: Full\-time, Permanent
Pay: €14\.15 per hour
