CAD Designer - Steelwork

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer with a strong background in structural steelwork to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, fabrication details, and 3D models for a range of steelwork projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail\-oriented designer who has experience working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to deliver high\-quality steelwork solutions.

Salary: will be agreed on based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Tekla.


• Create accurate schematics, plans, elevations and sections documentation in line with project specifications.


• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise CAD drawings.


• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and client requirements.


• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.


• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation supporting project development phases.


• Maintain organised digital files of all drawings and related documents for easy access and version control.

• Proven experience in CAD design and strong understanding of structural steelwork detailing and fabrication processes.


• Proficiency with industry\-standard CAD software including AutoCAD and/or Tekla


• Strong understanding of construction processes and technical drawing standards.


• Knowledge of connection detailing and steel fabrication standards.


• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans accurately.


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
