Job Summary
Objective:
We’re looking for an entry level CAD Technician to join our Product Engineering team, working on new projects and helping to update and maintain our engineering data. You’ll play a key role in producing accurate drawings and maintaining essential network records.

Use of databases to control and maintain data will be an essential part of the role. Essential qualities will be an organised, methodical person with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining and updating key data for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Using Inventor \[3D] to create and update technical models

  • Creating and updating drawing records based on Product Engineering needs

  • Ensuring drawings are accurate and compliant with International standards and conventions

  • Use of existing and new data management systems to update and maintain engineering data both internally and externally

  • Liaison with engineering, supply chain, sales and manufacturing to ensure excellent results

  • Manufacturing experience (desirable, not essential)

Duties and Responsibilities

Day to day management of drawing database

Management of engineering design changes

Interpretation and liaison with engineers to deliver models and drawings

Undertaking modelling and drawing of components and assemblies using CAD

Updates and management of data needs internally and compliance needs externally

Updating and management of Engineering product data

Training \& development

CAD software training

Drawing control and standards

Data Management systems both internal and external

Skills, interests and qualities

Organised, methodical, excellent attention to detail and consistent

The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as generate drawings to international conventions and standards

Managing data and interaction with a range of data management systems both internally and externally

Knowledge of engineering processes capabilities is desirable

Excellent problem\-solving skills.

Effective communication skills and teamworking across all levels of staff

A willingness to stay up to date with new technologies and industry developments

Awareness of electrical health and safety practices.

Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: £26,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
