Business Intelligence & Stock Analyst

Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated Business Analyst to join our growing team. This is an excellent

opportunity for an early career aspirant to begin their career in business analysis, working

across business data management, customer insights, stock management and commercial

reporting for a growing meat distribution business.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on business critical data i.e stock levels, waste, and reorder points using our warehouse/inventory management system (WMS) to support inventory planning and reduce shortages or overstock


• Track shelf\-life and stock rotation data for perishable meat products, using demand forecasting to reduce spoilage and improve freshness management


• Build and maintain reporting dashboards (e.g. in Excel or Power BI) tracking sales, margins, inventory and delivery performance


• Gather data around customer order patterns and seasonal demand and conduct in depth analysis to identify growth opportunities and support account planning


• Conduct regular customer and supplier reviews to understand customer needs, ensure supplier adherence to regular inventory orders and feed this into internal IT reporting tools to inform better stock decisions.


• Prepare regular performance summaries for company leadership covering stock, sales, and delivery metrics.


• Support pricing and margin analysis across product lines and customer accounts


• Maintain accurate stock and batch\-traceability data and records to support food safety and regulatory compliance (e.g. HACCP\-aligned documentation)


• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in stock handling, delivery routes, and customer service processes


• Participate in team planning discussions and contribute to the business's expansion strategy


• Qualifications \& Skills


• A 3rd level degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline


• Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills, with comfort working with numbers and Spreadsheets


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team,


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including direct customer and suppliers


• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast\-paced, hands\-on environment

• Exposure to reporting or dashboard tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar


• Familiarity with ERP or stock management software (e.g. SAP Business One, Sage, or similar distribution/inventory platforms)


• Coursework or project experience in inventory, supply chain, or business analytics


• Understanding of customer relationship or order management processes


• Experience with demand forecasting in a perishable\-goods, retail, or e\-commerce environment


• Interest in food distribution, logistics, or retail operations
