Business Development Manager – Custom Exhibition Stands
About Us
We are White Space Creative, an established design agency and custom exhibition stand build specialist producing high\-impact, bespoke exhibition stands for leading brands across the UK and Europe.
We take pride in our craft, our dedicated in\-house production facility, and the long\-standing relationships we have built with our clients spanning the 20 years of the business.
As our pipeline expands, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven background in exhibition design and build sales to join our team at our headquarters near Royston.
Working directly alongside our design and workshop teams, you will spearhead outbound business development, open doors to new exhibitors, and secure fresh, high\-value design briefs.
The Role
This is an autonomous, consultative sales role for an industry\-experienced professional who already understands how the exhibition sector works.
You will take ownership of targeting prospective corporate exhibitors, pitching our complete turnkey design\-and\-build capabilities, and turning initial client discovery into qualified design briefs.
Being primarily studio\-based at our HQ, you will work in close collaboration with our in\-house 3D designers, project managers, and workshop craftspeople—giving you direct visibility into our builds and immediate access to the team when pitching custom solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively prospect, target, and engage senior decision\-makers (Marketing Directors, Brand Managers, Event Heads) planning major UK and European trade show presences.
- Leverage your industry knowledge and proven sales techniques to identify upcoming tender opportunities, win design pitches, and secure briefs.
- Lead detailed client discovery sessions to establish physical requirements, visitor journeys, brand aesthetics, and realistic build budgets.

- Deliver persuasive pitch presentations and commercially close high\-value custom build contracts.
- Provide an exceptional onboarding experience to build trust and establish long\-term, multi\-show client relationships.
- Exhibition Industry Experience: Direct, proven track record selling bespoke exhibition stand design and build services. You already understand stand footprints, show regulations, modular vs. custom build methodologies, and exhibition timelines.
- Proven New Business Hunter: A track record of generating your own leads, securing design briefs, and closing high\-value commercial contracts under your own initiative.
- Studio\-Based \& Commutable: Located within a sensible daily commute of our studio/workshop near Royston (SG8\), with the flexibility to travel for client meetings and key trade shows when required.
- Strong Commercial Acumen: Confident qualifying budgets early, managing tender submissions, and negotiating build scopes to protect margins.
- Client\-Facing Presence: Excellent consultative communication skills—equally comfortable presenting 3D visuals to a marketing board or talking technical details through with the workshop team.
- Competitive base salary reflecting your industry experience, paired with a transparent commission structure.
- Direct access to our dedicated in\-house 3D design studio and custom fabrication workshop on site.
- An established portfolio of high\-spec builds and strong case studies to support your outreach.
- Clear autonomy to shape and drive the sales pipeline.
- Company pension scheme and holiday allowance.
