Business Data Analyst
Nottingham (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

We are looking for a highly analytical and business\-focused Business Data Analyst to support data\-driven transformation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between business and technology, working closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights, scalable solutions, and high\-quality data\-driven outcomes. You will play a key role in enabling better decision\-making through robust analysis, reporting, and collaboration across cross\-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyse, and document business and data requirements
- Translate complex requirements into functional specifications, user stories, data mappings, and reporting definitions
- Perform data analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Support the design and delivery of analytics solutions and enterprise data platforms
- Work closely with data engineers, architects, and QA teams to support data integration, testing, and UAT activities
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Conduct gap analysis, root cause analysis, and trend analysis to provide actionable business insights
- Contribute to data governance, data quality, and data lineage initiatives
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture, standards, and best practices
- Extensive experience working as a Business Data Analyst in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in data analytics, business intelligence, and data\-driven transformation programmes
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical and analytical solutions
- Hands\-on experience with SQL, Excel, and data analysis techniques
- Experience working with cloud\-based data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and modern data warehouses
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance frameworks
- Experience building insightful dashboards and reports to support decision\-making
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills
