Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Office\-based (4 days per week), Remote (1 day per week)

Reports To: Senior Leadership Team

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented bookkeeper to take ownership of the day\-to\-day finance function within our growing cosmetics business. This is a hands\-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, stock reconciliation, and supporting senior leadership with timely financial information.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing the full bookkeeping function, working independently while collaborating closely with the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.

  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping tasks.

  • Bank reconciliations.

  • Manage cash flow reporting.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts information for senior leadership/accountants.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.

  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure Revenue compliance.

  • Support year\-end audit and liaise with external accountants.
Accounts Payable
  • Process supplier invoices.

  • Match purchase orders, goods received and invoices.

  • Prepare supplier payment runs.

  • Reconcile supplier statements.

  • Resolve supplier queries promptly.

  • Maintain strong supplier relationships.
Accounts Receivable
  • Raise customer invoices.

  • Monitor outstanding debts.

  • Allocate customer payments.

  • Reconcile customer accounts.

  • Resolve customer account queries.
Payroll
  • Process monthly payroll using BrightPay.

  • Ensure compliance with Irish payroll legislation.

  • Maintain employee payroll records.

  • Process pension deductions and statutory payments.

  • Submit payroll information in line with Revenue requirements.
Stock \& Inventory
  • Maintain stock records using Unleashed.

  • Reconcile inventory between Unleashed and Xero.

  • Monitor stock variances.

  • Assist with stocktakes.

  • Produce inventory reports for management.

  • Work closely with operations and warehouse teams to ensure stock accuracy.
Financial Systems
  • Maintain and optimise Xero accounting system.

  • Manage integrations between Xero and Unleashed.

  • Ensure financial data integrity across all systems.
Reporting
  • Produce monthly financial reports.

  • Prepare cash flow reports.

  • Monitor KPIs.

  • Provide financial insights to senior leadership.

  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Systems Experience

Experience with:

  • Xero

  • Unleashed Inventory Management

  • BrightPay Payroll

  • Microsoft Excel
Skills \& Experience
  • Minimum 3\-5 years' bookkeeping experience.

  • Experience managing the complete finance function.

  • Strong understanding of Irish VAT and payroll regulations.

  • Excellent reconciliation skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Comfortable working independently.

  • Commercial awareness and problem\-solving ability.
Desirable
  • Experience within retail, FMCG, cosmetics or consumer goods.

  • Experience with inventory\-based businesses.

  • Bookkeeping or Accounting Technician qualification (ATI, IATI or equivalent).

  • Experience supporting business growth.
