Bank Support Worker
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Bank Support Worker to join our team working at a Supported Accommodation for 16\-18 year olds in Derby, supporting young people to gain the skills and confidence they need to live independently.
Shifts are generally 8am\-8am (8am\-11pm waking hours, 11pm\-8am sleep in).
Waking hours are paid at a rate of £13\.50 an hour and sleep ins are paid at £55 per sleep in.
In this role, you will provide trauma\-informed support, encouragement, and guidance to help young people develop independent living skills. You will work within the Ofsted Supported Accommodation regulations to support young people to manage their daily living activities and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supporting young people to build skills and knowledge for independent living and for managing their own safety.
- To promote safeguarding, safety, and welfare of each young person living in the home.
- Contribute to tailored care plans designed to meet individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
- To establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with young people, centred around compassion, consistent boundaries and wellbeing.
- Monitor progress, document interactions, and communicate updates to the wider support team or managers.
- Collaborate with external professionals to ensure holistic support
- Experience working with children or young people in a supportive capacity
- Understanding of the Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations
- Strong knowledge base of trauma informed care and how this impacts support
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring, patient, and empathetic approach
- Good organisational skills for documenting progress and maintaining accurate records
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes positive relationships
