About The Role

Role: Home Care Assistant

Location: Various Locations including Crewkerne, Yeovil, Martock, Chard and Ilminster
Pay: £13\.50 per hour PLUS travel time and petrol expenses

Hours: Bank Hours (Hours worked as required by the service, with no guaranteed hours. Applicants should be willing to work weekends as required)

Shift Pattern: 07:00 \- 14:00 and/or 16:00 \- 22:00

Care South, a leading not for profit charity, have exciting opportunities for Home Care Assistants to join our Somerset Care at Home team, supporting clients with a variety of needs in their own homes in Various locations across Somerset.

This Home Care Assistants role is a community based, it is essential applicants hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. As a Home Care Assistant with Care South, we ensure you are paid for not just your contact time but also your travel time. On top of this we pay a generous milage rate of 40p per mile.

You will help with personal care such as personal hygiene, toileting, and dressing

About you:

• Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not required


• You will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.


• Flexible in the hours you can work and ability to work every other weekend


• Strong attention to detail and reporting skills


• Able to work independently and as part of a team

You will hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to undertake one.
