About this Job:
As a result of a growing and diverse pipeline of projects, we require an Environmental Consultant to join our growing Environmental Assessment and Consenting team.
You will play a key role in assisting our senior Project Managers in delivering Planning Applications, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and other environmental assessments for a range of clients in the renewable energy and other sectors.
As an Assistant Project Manager you will work across a diverse range of projects assisting in the delivery of the next generation of renewable infrastructure. Full training will be given, and our mentoring system will allow you to learn from our experienced team members first\-hand.
The day\-to\-day requirements of the post would include:
- Assisting in the undertaking of technical assessments including desktop assessments and potentially surveys and site visits as required;
- Assisting the Project Managers in the delivery of projects both large and small including project planning, assisting in budget and invoice management, management of sub\-contractors and co\-ordination of delivery;
- The opportunity to manage smaller projects with the support and guidance of more senior staff
- Assisting staff with the preparation of tenders including obtaining quotes from subcontractors, and assisting the compilation of fee proposals;
- Preparation of written draft reports with the assistance of technical staff;
- Assisting with internal management and business processes including the tracking of business opportunities and team finances; and
- Professional development and learning including keeping up to date with industry changes and making a positive contribution to the overall development and performance of the Company.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about career in the environmental assessment and sustainability sector, who brings the following:
- A Masters degree in an environmental discipline with 1\-2 years’ experience in the environmental permitting.
- Experience in project management support role and/or involvement in the delivery of technical environmental assessments.
- A self\-starter with an ability to take on tasks and progress under their own initiative but unafraid to seek assistance when needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multifunctional teams both internally and externally.
- Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of the planning and environmental assessment legislations across the UK.
