ASSISTANT MANAGER | OOWEE DINER.
ABOUT US
Since 2017, Oowee has been leading Bristol's dirty burger scene, building a cult following with bold flavours and big personality. From smash burgers to our standalone vegan concept, we've always done things differently.
We're more than a restaurant. We're a community, a culture, and a family.
Quality, Creativity and Consistency drive everything we do. From our fresh\-baked milk rolls made in\-house daily to our signature sauces crafted from our own recipes, we focus on flavour and never cut corners.
Simple: we go the extra mile. Always.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As Assistant Manager at our North Street site, you'll work side by side with the General Manager to run one of our busiest Oowee Diner kitchens. You'll be the GM's right hand, helping set the tone, bring personality to the floor, and create an atmosphere your team can thrive in. When the GM isn't in, the restaurant is yours to lead.
This is a hands\-on role in a kitchen\-focused, fast\-paced business. You'll lead from the front during service, keep standards tight, and make sure every dish goes out exactly to spec, every time. You'll also take real ownership of the things that keep a site running well: stock, process, people, and customer experience.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Making sure the team follows correct kitchen process and food spec, every shift, with no shortcuts
- Helping run stock takes and placing accurate stock orders
- Leading busy shifts from the front and keeping the team calm, sharp, and on pace
- Delivering fantastic customer service and sorting any issues quickly and well
- Running the site as duty manager when the General Manager is off, including opening and closing
- Owning cleanliness, food safety, allergen and hygiene standards (we take our EHO rating seriously)
- Handling tills, and end\-of\-day reconciliation
- Helping train, coach, and develop the team so everyone gets better
- Supporting rotas and keeping an eye on labour against the day's trade
- Helping hit site targets and feeding back on what's working and what isn't
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We want a true people person who brings warmth, enthusiasm, and character to the floor. You'll be passionate about great food delivered consistently, and you'll understand that exceptional customer experience always comes first.

- Self\-starter with strong planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills
- Natural leader who communicates clearly and brings the team with them
- Calm and confident under pressure during peak service
- Positive, proactive "can\-do" attitude
- Respectful, supportive, and genuinely invested in team success
- Comfortable with the detail: process, spec, stock, and standards
- Open to giving and receiving honest, constructive feedback
- Customer\-focused and always willing to go above and beyond
- Ambitious, with the drive to keep progressing in the business
