Shambles Kitchen is looking for an Assistant General Manager to support our GM in the running of our famous Sandwich shop, Smokehouse Burritos and Crumbles Desserts stall located around the Shambles in York.
And best of all, It's day shifts only, so the position offers a great work life balance for the hospitality industry.
Summary
As an Assistant GM, you will play a vital role in supporting daily operations and ensuring that our high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service are met. This position offers the chance to lead a dedicated team while contributing to the overall success of our business.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.
- Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation in line with company policies.
- Coaching exceptional customer service standards to the staff, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
- Help with inventory management and ordering supplies on the managers days off.
- Train new employees on operational procedures and customer service expectations.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement promotional strategies and improve sales.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the food service industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain standards amongst front line staff
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management capabilities.
- Ability to handle high\-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.
