Area Sales Manager 1
Your role

Your mission as an Area Sales Manager Direct is to maximise and grow the sales of our air compressor range via a network of appointed distributors.
You will
- Building, developing, and nurturing strong customer relationships support shared growth objectives.
- Manage and motivate a network of distributors within your territory.
- Plan and prioritise sales activities. Customer/prospect interaction and marketing activities towards achieving agreed business aims, including long term growth and profitability.
- Manage your region effectively, maintaining strong awareness of channel coverage, identifying gaps and actions to close them, and monitoring competitor activity and market pricing.
- Drive a value\-based sales approach, clearly promoting product features and benefits.
- Follow up on all leads and opportunities within required timeframes, maintaining quote logs and appointments in C4C.
- Follow the business line pricing strategy to support channel management and maximise business results.
- Contribute to the positive development of Customer Satisfaction/NPS scores
- Attend company \& sales meetings as required and ensure that all subsequent actions required are undertaken.
- Managing personal time and productivity. Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills in line with the Atlas Copco Group standards.

- A strong customer focus and a clear understanding of how customers perceive value and how to maximise it.
- Proven sales experience, ideally in capital equipment or technical products.
- Experience working with or managing distributor networks.
- Knowledge of the compressed air industry (advantageous but not essential).
- A technical qualification or background (beneficial but not essential). If you bring strong sales skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, we will provide full product training.
- A full UK driving licence – this is a field\-based role with regular travel across your territory.
- Less than 3 points on driving licence.
- Strong IT skills and a willingness to get comfortable with new systems and CRM tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – the ability to build trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time\-management skills, with a proactive approach to planning and meeting targets.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and work autonomously in a field‑based role.

This role is field‑based and covers the Northern sales territory, with a preferred location around Halifax/Leeds.
Successful applicant must have the right to live and work in the UK.
