Location: Field\-based from Bedford Head Office
Package: £45,000 \+ performance bonus

Role Purpose
The Field Retail Support Manager will provide hands\-on leadership and operational support across a portfolio of Carpets4Less corporate and franchise stores. The role’s focus is to drive consistent retail performance, strengthen operational standards, and provide visible support to store teams and franchise partners. This position bridges day\-to\-day store management with Regional\-level leadership, ensuring stores deliver strong financial results, excellent customer service, and compliance with brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Ensure stores achieve agreed KPIs including sales, margin, conversion, and customer satisfaction. Identify performance gaps and implement improvement action plans.
- Team Leadership: Coach and mentor Store Managers and Assistant Managers, supporting performance management, recruitment, and training to build capability within each team.
- Commercial Focus: Work closely with the Managing Director to analyse trading reports, identify regional sales trends, and contribute to local promotional activity that improves sales performance.
- Store Development: Support new store openings, refurbishments, and succession planning by developing internal talent for future management opportunities.
- Audit \& Compliance: Oversee health \& safety, operational compliance, and brand standards adherence across all stores; follow up on audit actions in a timely and consistent manner.
- Communication \& Reporting: Act as the key link between stores and head office teams, ensuring consistent communication on initiatives, policies, and performance updates.
- Franchise Support: Occasional partnering with franchisees to share best practice, advise on store standards, visual merchandising, and compliance expectations, reinforcing the Carpets4Less brand.
- *Proven multi\-site or large\-store management experience within flooring retail.*
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret sales and profit reports to drive improved outcomes.
- Effective people management and coaching skills, able to influence and motivate both direct teams and independent franchisees.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities across multiple sites.
- Confident communicator with a blend of authority and approachability.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel frequently between sites.
