About the Role
Northway Medical Centre is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and organised Administrator/Receptionist Apprentice to join their busy and supportive GP practice.
You’ll be one of the first points of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and professional service both face\-to\-face and over the phone. Alongside reception duties, you’ll support the wider team with a range of administrative tasks while developing valuable skills and experience within a healthcare setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming patients and dealing with enquiries
- Answering telephone calls and taking accurate messages
- Booking, cancelling and rearranging appointments
- Registering patients and updating patient information
- Using the EMIS clinical system to maintain accurate records
- Scanning, filing and processing documents
- Supporting repeat prescription requests
- Responding to emails and general correspondence
- Liaising with healthcare professionals and external organisations
- Supporting medical record requests in line with GDPR
- Providing general administrative support to the practice team
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and keen to learn. You’ll need good communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to work with a wide range of people.
You should be comfortable working in a busy environment and understand the importance of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with patient information.

Training \& Support
You’ll have an allocated mentor and receive full training and supervision while you learn the role. As your skills and confidence develop, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility and become an important part of the reception and administration team.

Pay: £15,600\.00 per year
