Analytical Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities:

*Strategic Leadership \& Governance*

• *Define and implement laboratory strategy encompassing analytical methods, equipment, competencies, organizational structure, and quality control management*


• *Establish and maintain laboratory governance frameworks to ensure operational excellence*


• *Drive innovation and modernization of laboratory capabilities*

• *Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across Clariant's global network*


• *Serve as primary interface between laboratory operations and R\&D, production, and other key functions*


• *Manage external laboratory partnerships including audits, performance monitoring, and contract negotiations*

• *Develop and manage laboratory budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation*


• *Lead equipment investment planning and capital expenditure decisions*


• *Negotiate pricing and service agreements with external laboratories and suppliers*

• *Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and effectiveness*


• *Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs within the laboratory*


• *Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational targets are met*

• *Provide leadership in the implementation and optimization of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)*


• *Establish robust database infrastructure and document management systems*


• *Drive digitalization initiatives to enhance laboratory productivity and data integrity*

• *Track, analyze, and report on laboratory performance metrics*


• *Implement corrective actions based on performance data*

Requirements:

• *At least 5 years with management in an international company.*


• *Deep analytical chemistry knowledge*


• *Fluent in English and French (C1 level required)*


• *Digital mindset (SAP, LIMS)*


• *Leadership skills*


• *Problem solving with a business orientation*


• *Strategic thinking and vision\-setting abilities*


• *Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills*


• *Change management expertise*


• *Results\-oriented with strong business acumen*


• *Ability to lead cross\-functional initiatives*


• *Education: Master, engineer or PhD*
