The Role

To take a lead role for a designated clinical area with a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge. Has responsibility for the supervision, education and development of more junior staff, physiotherapy support workers and students within the speciality. Provides a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers. Has active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research.

In this key role, you will:

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including direct and indirect patient care

  • To assess capacity gain valid consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent.

  • Act independently to assess, analyse clinical and non\-clinical information and provide highly specialist and comprehensive clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention. This includes patients with complex presentations

  • Act independently to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise rehabilitation potential including decision making regarding discharge from care

  • Manage an identifiable caseload of patients effectively and efficiently, utilising current literature and research may be identified as a key worker within the multi\-professional team, eg. stroke rehabilitation.
What You'll Bring:
  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration

  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level

  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.

  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
