Young People's Support Worker – Supported Accommodation
Location: Purley and Mitcham
Pay: £13\.00–£14\.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Contract: Permanent; full\-time and part\-time positions available
Shifts: Opportunities include waking nights and sleep\-ins. Exact working patterns will be discussed during recruitment.
About Hope and Noble Care
Hope and Noble Care provides supported accommodation for young people aged 16–17 as they prepare for greater independence. We are recruiting five compassionate, reliable and consistent Support Workers to join our teams across Purley and Mitcham.
Our approach is young\-person\-centred and trauma\-informed. Staff provide structure, encouragement and practical support while maintaining professional boundaries and promoting each young person's safety, wellbeing and individual goals. Support is tailored to each young person's assessed needs and individual support plan.
About the role
You will build positive professional relationships with young people and help create a safe, stable and welcoming environment. The role combines emotional support, safeguarding, practical help and accurate recording.
Key responsibilities
Support daily routines and independent\-living skills, including cooking, budgeting, self\-care and maintaining a home
Deliver planned key\-work sessions and help young people work towards agreed goals
Encourage engagement with education, training, healthcare, appointments and community activities
Provide calm, consistent emotional support and use appropriate de\-escalation approaches
Follow support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries
Recognise, record and report safeguarding or welfare concerns promptly
Maintain clear daily records, handovers, incident reports and other required documentation
Contribute to reviews of support plans and risk assessments
Work constructively with colleagues, social workers and other involved professionals
Attend supervision, training and team meetings
Essential requirements
Experience supporting children or young people in youth work, supported accommodation, residential care, mental health, education or a related setting
A sound understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
A calm, resilient and dependable approach
Strong spoken and written communication skills for handovers, reports and safeguarding records
Ability to work as part of a team and follow agreed plans and procedures
Right to work in the UK
Willingness to complete Hope and Noble Care's safer\-recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check for the child workforce, references and employment\-history checks
Desirable
A relevant Level 3 qualification in children and young people's care, health and social care, or an equivalent subject
Full UK driving licence
Experience supporting young people with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, trauma, attachment difficulties or emotional\-regulation needs
Experience with key work, support plans and risk assessments
Training in de\-escalation, first aid or food hygiene
