Year 6 Teaching Assistant Required Are you an experienced and resilient Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children in Year 6?

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Winsford. The successful candidate will work within a Year 6 classroom supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including children who require additional behavioural, emotional and academic support.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a challenging but highly rewarding environment and is passionate about helping children achieve success during this important stage of their education.

Key Responsibilities • Provide classroom support to Year 6 pupils, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

• Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.


• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.


• Assist pupils in preparing for SATs and the transition to secondary school.


• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence within the classroom.


• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support plans.


• Foster positive relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Previous experience working within a primary school setting.

• Experience supporting children with SEN and challenging behaviour.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.


• A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.
