We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Winsford, working with children aged 5-6 years old. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young learners in a nurturing environment where learning is driven through play, exploration, and individualised support.

The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning activities and develop key life skills. The school follows a play-based approach to learning, creating engaging and meaningful experiences tailored to each child's needs.

The role will involve:

• Supporting children aged 5-6 years with a range of SEND needs


• Encouraging learning through play and interactive activities


• Assisting with personal care, including changing nappies when required


• Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours


• Using de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies


• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families


• Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team

What We're Looking For • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential


• Confidence in supporting children with additional needs and complex behaviours


• A resilient and positive attitude


• Willingness to undertake personal care duties


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
