At Lanark, you’ll keep the yard, workshop and forecourt organised, making sure machinery is clean, positioned and ready for customers.

  • Depot: Lanark, South Lanarkshire

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week. Overtime available.

  • Reports to: Agricultural Service Manager

  • Contract: Permanent

Who we are

Hamilton Ross Group is one of the UK’s largest machinery dealerships. We have been trading since 1933, we are in our third generation of family ownership, and around 200 people work with us across nine depots in Scotland and the north of England. We represent major brands like Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Fendt, JCB, Wacker Neuson, Kubota, Honda, Stihl and Husqvarna.

The role

You’ll work across the yard, workshop and forecourt, helping with deliveries, machinery movements and preparation. You’ll load and unload lorries, record machinery movements, manage delivery paperwork and position machines in line with the yard plan.

You’ll also clean and detail machinery, prepare hire and loan equipment and keep the depot tidy. When required, you may deliver or collect customer machines by van or pick\-up and trailer, subject to holding the appropriate licence.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing


  • Load and unload lorries and move machinery safely around the depot

  • Record machinery movements and pass completed delivery paperwork to the right people

  • Clean customer machinery and detail new machinery to the required standard

  • Prepare hire or loan machinery, including cleaning, fluid checks and paperwork

  • Prepare machinery for photographs and present stock consistently

  • Position machinery in the correct areas in line with the agreed yard plan

  • Keep the yard, forecourt, workshop and skip areas clean and tidy

  • Deliver and collect customer machinery by van or pick\-up and trailer when required and appropriately licensed

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence and confidence moving vehicles and machinery around the depot

  • A practical, organised approach with accurate record keeping

  • A reliable, enthusiastic attitude and pride in doing a job well

  • Ability to work independently and support different areas as priorities change

  • Flexibility to work weekends when required

Desirable
  • Trailer towing entitlement or towing experience; training can be provided

  • Forklift licence or previous forklift experience

  • Knowledge of agricultural, groundcare or construction machinery
