Food \& Beverage Supervisor

New Lanark Mill Hotel \| New Lanark, South Lanarkshire

New Lanark Mill Hotel is looking for a Food \& Beverage Supervisor to join our team, working closely with our Food \& Beverage Manager.

Set within the historic New Lanark UNESCO World Heritage Site, our four\-star hotel offers a unique working environment, with our Food \& Beverage operation covering restaurant, bar and lounge service alongside weddings, private dining and special events.

We're looking for people who are confident, hands\-on and comfortable leading a team during service. These aren't positions where you'll simply stand back and supervise – you'll be very much part of the operation, leading from the front and helping the team deliver a warm, professional and consistent experience for our guests.

The Role

As Food \& Beverage Supervisor, you'll help oversee the day\-to\-day running of our restaurant, bar and lounge and support the management team in the delivery of weddings, private functions and events.

You'll take responsibility for shifts, help organise and motivate the team, maintain service standards and ensure our guests receive the level of hospitality we expect at New Lanark.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising restaurant, bar and lounge service

  • Leading and supporting the F\&B team during busy shifts

  • Opening and closing the department as required

  • Allocating duties and ensuring the team is fully prepared for service

  • Maintaining excellent standards of guest service

  • Supporting the operational delivery of weddings, private dining, functions and events

  • Handling guest enquiries and resolving issues confidently and professionally

  • Cash handling and EPOS operation

  • Supporting stock control and maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness

  • Ensuring licensing, food safety and health \& safety procedures are followed

  • Supporting the Assistant Hotel Manager with the training and development of the team

  • Taking responsibility for the department when senior F\&B management is not present
About You

We're particularly interested in candidates with good all\-round Food \& Beverage experience and who are comfortable working across both restaurant and bar operations.

Ideally, you'll have previous supervisory, team leader or senior F\&B experience within a hotel, restaurant or quality hospitality environment. You'll have strong restaurant service experience, good bar knowledge, confidence leading a team and a practical, hands\-on approach to service.

Experience of weddings, events, functions or private dining would be a distinct advantage, although we'd also welcome applications from candidates with strong restaurant and bar experience who are ready to develop further in these areas.

You should be someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering great hospitality and is comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions during a busy service.

Expected hours: 35\.0 – 40\.0 per week
