Yard Operative

TJ O' Mahony, Yellow Lane, Knockanrahan, Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Y14 YT71, part of HPC Sales Ltd., Irelands' leading Builders Providers and Home Improvement/DIY Store, is looking for a full\-Time, Permanent ,Yard Operative to join our Team.

Job Purpose: Yard Operative. Maintain the yard to a high standard and operate yard machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.


• Receiving, checking and putting away stock.


• Picking and preparing customer orders for collection or delivery.


• Moving and stacking building materials around the yard.


• Assisting customers with loading their vehicles.


• Operating forklifts and other yard equipment where qualified.


• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised.


• Checking stock and reporting damaged or missing goods.


• Assisting with goods\-in and stock control.


• Ensuring materials are stored safely and securely.


• Following all company Health \& Safety procedures.


• Working closely with the Warehouse and Trade Counter teams.


• Providing good customer service to customers and delivery drivers.


• Carrying out general yard duties as required by the Branch Manager.

• Display excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.


• Full Clean Drivers Licence


• Excellent time keeping.


• Be highly motivated and can work to set deadlines.


• Team player with ability to work on own initiative.


• Problem\-solving skills.


• Good road knowledge of surrounding areas.

• Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday \- Saturday)
