About the Company:
At CNG Fuels, we are pioneers in the sustainable energy sector with a mission to drive fleet emissions in the transportation industry to zero through our innovative solutions.
We construct, own, and manage our own network of state\-of\-the\-art Bio\-CNG public access refuelling stations, procuring our own 100% renewable Biomethane. Our Bio\-CNG is derived entirely from biomethane extracted from waste materials such as food, animal, and wastewater. It undergoes independent verification and is sanctioned by the Department for Transport’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO).

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team based in our Wigan Transport hub to help maintain our growing modern fleet of 16 tractor units and over 30 trailers and light commercial vehicles based across the UK.
Working in our small experienced team flexibility is essential, you will be responsible for daily monitoring and repair of fleet defects which may include travelling to our sites across the UK, this will possibly mean some nights away from home.
You will be able to work well as part of a team but also under your own initiative
You will have excellent attention to detail with a passion for delivering high quality workmanship.
You will also be heavily involved in the build of our specialist mobile refuelling stations, this will involve welding and fabrication of bespoke parts so previous experience in this is advantageous.
All our trailers carry compressed biomethane so fall under ADR, for this you will require an ADR qualification for tanks, although having this is advantageous it is not essential as full training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance and repair work to all our vehicles to maintain our high standards.
- Ability to diagnose and rectify faults
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment
- Working remotely to rectify running defects, which may require some nights away from home.
- Collecting and delivering vehicles and trailers to depots across the UK.
- Presenting vehicles for MOT and ADR Testing
- Working on a rota system for phone related call out queries
- Welding and fabrication.
- Conform to all site rules and regulations.
- Tachograph card management.
NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent in HGV Repair and Maintenance. (Required)
Engineering and welding qualifications (Preferred but not essential as training will be provided)
Licences:
HGV Class 1 Licence (C\+E) (Required)
ADR Licence for tanks (Preferred but not essential as training will be provided)
