Work Placement Co-Ordinator
About Us:
At Access Ability, we provide specialist support for young adults with Autism, disabilities and additional needs.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working with potential employers, support work, and is committed to preparing our young adults for work. Within the role you will be contacting local employers for voluntary placements, supporting our young adults within employability sessions, providing 1:1 support within work experience and employment.
As part of this role, you will join a small specialist team, dedicated to providing activities that expand experiences, raise aspirations and build skills.
As a Work Placement Co\-Ordinator, you will make a real difference to our young peoples' lives and independence skills. We are looking for people to join our specialist disability team, who are committed, professional and enthusiastic.
What will I be doing?
Source prospective Employers for voluntary work placements
Support our young adults with preparation for work placements.
Provide personalised coaching and mentoring to individuals, focusing on employability skills, workplace integration and employment goals
Provide 1:1 support within employment placements and paid work.
Help individuals prepare for job interviews, develop CV’s and research potential job opportunities.
Work with employers to promote understanding of disability and develop strategies for creating inclusive work placements.
Work as part of the employability team to ensure that information regarding your young adults’ needs and progress are shared.
Maintain records and update risk assessments.
Support our young adults to follow workplace policies and procedures.
Ensure alignment with the organisation's ethos and guidelines.
Promote professional support practices.
Support the young person to be able to travel independently (if able).
To maintain regular communication and to work frequently with other team members and managers.
What skills and qualities do I need to have?
Whilst knowledge of Autism, disabilities and additional needs would be beneficial, it isn’t essential. What is essential is that you are / have:

Good organisation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
An ability to provide guidance, motivation and emotional support.

Demonstrate a positive attitude and act as a positive role model.
Having a driving license is essential.
