Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Manage a team
Working in collaboration with department teams, stock administrator(s), retail \& warehouse teams,
on a daily basis
Warehouse Supervisor
Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck \- mixed weights
Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse
Receiving and processing warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store) checking against
paperwork and using the warehouse management systems. Reporting of issues and discrepancies
Preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
Picking orders, packing (correctly and safely with adequate packaging) and completing transfers on the company system as well as arranging shipping and loading goods on to delivery
vehicles.
Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensuring that products are stored safely and labelled correctly and safely
Performing inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits. Stock checks and stock takes as required
Other warehouse operations, as required
General
Following quality service standards and complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Keeping a clean and safe working environment and optimising space utilization. Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse is part of the daily routine.
Communicating and co\-operating with supervisors and co\-workers
Operating and maintaining preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
Comply with company and legislative Environment, Health and Safety requirements
Completing a limited number of deliveries to customers and stores (currently up to ten local deliveries per week, subject to change)
Skills \& Competencies Required
- Good time management and organizational skills
- 2\+ years' experience as a warehouse operative
- Ability to prioritize and proactively manage workload, and solve problems
- Mentoring and coaching of staff in best warehouse practices and performance.
- Use of email is a requirement, knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Numbers a distinct advantage
- Ability to prioritize and proactively manage workload, and solve problems
- Optimising space in the warehouse.
- Excellent attention to detail, with good communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Leaving cert or equivalent level of education
- Adhere to site safety rules.
- Support Team.
- Support Picking/Processing orders.
- Adhere to organisations business values and quality and customer service standards.
- Ensure that all instructions from your direct line manager are carried out accurately and efficiently.
- To lead all warehouse operatives on site and ensure that all daily deadlines are adhered to.
- Assist with the effective management of warehousing, stocks, staff, training etc.
- Checking inbound deliveries accurately as per company SOPs.
- Responsible for the storage of goods.
- Oversee job duties and responsibilities on shift.
- Ensure that checks are carried out on condition of goods for dispatch and preparation of delivery dockets.
- Responsible for staff scheduled on their shift.
- Ensuring goods aren't damaged.
- Excellent team player with good attention to detail.
- Reporting issues and concerns to management.
Preferred Additional Skills
Current forklift licence
Experience with a Warehouse System
Working Conditions
Work in a warehouse environment. Manual handling required.
Occasional travel between offices/locations may be required.
