The Role:

Supervise and coordinate the warehouse team day\-to\-day, leading by example and staying hands\-on with picking, packing and shipping. Support the Warehouse Manager in using equipment and staff effectively to cut costs, boost efficiency and keep customers satisfied – in line with Company Procedures and Health \& Safety law.

Reporting To:

• Warehouse Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and motivate staff; plan rotas, assign tasks, monitor results


• Oversee receiving, storage, distribution and maintenance; optimise use of space


• Enforce policies and procedures, and maintain health \& safety, hygiene and security standards


• Assist with stock control and reporting (IN/OUT status, dead stock, etc.)


• Liaise with suppliers, transport companies and customers on goods in, delivery notes and collections


• Receive, pick, convert, pack, palletise, label, wrap and band orders


• Load/unload vehicles and put away goods using a forklift


• Support recruitment, coaching and motivation of warehouse staff


• Maintain housekeeping across the warehouse, yard and car parks


• Train on conversion machines; take on other reasonable duties as needed

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday


• 7\.5 hours per day


• 37\.5 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible (or as soon as can be arranged)
Job Type: Full\-time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000 \- £30,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge of distribution and logistics in London and the South


• Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or team leader


• Forklift/reach\-truck certified; full driving licence


• Computer literate (MS Excel/Word); self\-starting, works well solo or in a team


• Manual handling skills; good time management and initiative


• Strong communication, reliability, honesty and attention to detail

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• A qualification in English, Maths


• A valid UK driving licence (preferred)


• A forklift truck certificate of competence for reach (required)


• A forklift truck certificate of competence for counterbalance (preferred)


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and KPIs


• Basic leadership skills and confidence guiding a small team
