What You’ll Do:

As a Warehouse Operative in our Rugby depot, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

Loading \& Unloading: Handling parcels with care and efficiency.

Sorting \& Scanning: Using smart tech to sort parcels into cages.

Teamwork: Collaborating with a supportive team to get the job done.

Full\-time contracts: 40 hours per week, any 5 out of 7 days (including weekends).

Your purpose (in a nutshell)

Reporting to the Supervisor in your area, you will be responsible for manual handling, working with machinery, moving pallets of parcels and loading/unloading trailers efficiently, and sort parcels through manual process. You will ensure all KPI targets in your specific area are met while regularly listening to instructions from your Team Leader.

You will be accountable for:

• Unloading and loading of parcels from the back of trailers.


• Using machinery such as telescopic conveyors to extend into the back of trailers allowing you to work more efficiently.


• Recognizing clients, scanning and manually sorting parcels into correct assets through manual sorting process.


• Sorting clients into one of 8 zones, keeping priority clients separate with efficient turnover of assets by clear labels to distribute to the Outbound area.


• Quality checks for specific and new clients, while recognising the difference between parcels e.g Live, International and UF stock.


• Efficient processing and loading Star Clients and priority returns as per clients’ requirements


• Completing repetitive handling and lifting sometimes heavy and awkward parcels.


• Using hand\-held devices and ensuring that all items are scanned following the correct Standard Operating Procedure.


• Effective communication within your team and with management in your area.


• Adhering to all Health and Safety regulations and following correct operating procedures.


• Regular use of pump trucks to move parcels and assets.


• Reporting any concerns to your area Team Leader


• Personal and warehouse hygiene.


• Your personal output in a fast\-paced environment.


• Adhering to all company policies and procedures in your area and for demonstrating Hermes values.

Qualifications:

• Ability to speak and write in fluent English.


• Have excellent attention to detail


• Good organisation skills

Knowledge \& Experience:

• Warehouse experience desired however not essential.


• Experience in a physically demanding environment.


• Able to pick up technology devices quickly.

Technical \& People Skills:

• Good communicator and team player.


• Able to use initiative and work at a fast pace.
