About Us:

Excelsior Foods part of Kendal Nutricare is an exciting new start\-up enterprise supporting a wider group of established companies, including a well\-known family infant nutrition brand, one of the fastest growing in the UK to be precise!

This new venture will support the storage and distribution of the connected businesses while the whole former food production site is under review for redevelopment. The initial operations will be an exciting part of the wider business’s expansion, with over 3000 pallet spaces for stock to be managed while supporting the stock flow from the brands UK based factory, and 3pl partner. This site will also look at tasks such as labelling for export, reworking pallets into customer friendly formats and helping load international orders and storage of incoming ingredients, packaging and finished goods, so there will be lots to do for the right team members. Although, the site will start with a storage and distribution focus, big plans are under consideration for the longer term for this 20\-acre site.

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Warehouse \& Logistics Manager, this is a great opportunity for an individual to take on a new challenge, build on their current experience and develop themselves in this new role as the company grows.

The role is Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 6am \- 2:30pm with a 30\-minute unpaid lunch break. Flexibility on hours and days of working are required to cover the needs of the business.

What you’ll be doing:

• Operate forklift to load and unload materials.


• Move materials to and from storage areas, machines, and loading bays.


• Receive and unload incoming shipments and materials.


• Organise and manage stock inventory in designated areas.


• Pick and pack orders for shipment, preparing shipping labels and documents.


• Any other Warehouse duties as and when required.


• Complying with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role.

• Fork Lift Truck licence or willingness to work towards this.


• Previous experience and working knowledge of the food industry and machinery is preferable but not essential as on the job training will be provided.


• Once trained, the post holder will work unsupervised to strict procedural guidelines.


• We are looking for a good communicator and an individual who is flexible to changing work shifts.


• To succeed in this role you will be diligent with a flexible approach to work and a ‘will do/can do’ attitude.


• Be self\-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision, working to tight deadlines. It’s crucial that you are accurate with excellent attention to detail.


• Being computer literate is a necessity, experience of working with inventory tracking systems, the internet and email.
