Warehouse Operative/Driver

JOB SUMMARY

Under the instruction of the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking branch warehouse activities, organising and optimising stock management and supporting warehouse activity for the branch.

You will ensure the warehouse is kept clean/tidy and operate as a relief driver for the branch when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse activity:

• Arranging and adjusting the warehouse layout in conjunction with the Branch Manager to optimise flow and efficiency.


• Goods in unloading by hand and with a forklift, checking then placing into the correct BIN location in the warehouse racking.


• Revising BIN locations as required on Business Central system and physically changing stock locations.


• Supporting audits / cycle counts.


• Always operating safely in accordance with Company Health \& Safety policy.


• Organise, formalise and communicate inventory results.


• Pick, pack and ship goods.

• Work with the Branch Manager to optimise stock management, stock levels and buffer stocks without risking a shortage in peak months.


• Eliminate stock losses from Branch by full and accurate record keeping.


• Anticipate and plan stock levels around high\-pick activity periods.


• Create space and planning for new / additional product lines.


• Report on all slow moving \& obsolete stock lines (SLOBS)


• Liaise with other branches re – inter branch stock transfers.

• Driving 3\.5T Luton/Flatbed style vehicles to make deliveries to customers as required to meet agreed delivery arrangements.


• Daily and weekly vehicle safety checks.


• Ensure highest quality customer service levels are achieved in branch and at customers sites.

• Support operations that meet business requirements and customer demands.


• Have a cost vs value centred approach across all workstreams to include evaluation of expenditure across responsible areas as necessary.
