Warehouse Operative

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, shipping, and receiving operations within our warehouse. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to smooth warehouse functioning in a fast\-paced environment. The position involves operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.

Duties

• Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse


• Manage stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory control


• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing goods for dispatch and checking incoming deliveries


• Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs on warehouse equipment as required


• Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage to prevent damage or safety hazards


• Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety regulations


• Assist in organising stock locations and maintaining a clean, organised warehouse environment


• Support the team with general warehouse duties such as packing, labelling, and documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience operating forklifts and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)


• Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting minor issues


• Strong materials handling skills with the ability to load \& unload goods efficiently


• Good understanding of shipping \& receiving procedures


• Basic maths skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis


• Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment operation


• Awareness of health and safety regulations related to warehousing activities

Pay: £13\.00\-£16\.22 per hour
