About Us
We are a well\-established and growing wholesale and retail book company based in Sheffield S9\. We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our new distribution centre.
The Role
As our warehouse operations manager, you will oversee all aspects of the daily warehouse activities from goods in logistics, sortation and packing process, location and storage, order fulfilment and outbound dispatch with a goal of driving efficiency and performance to meet targets. This is a varied and hands on role covering both the shop floor management and admin relating to goods\-in, inventory process and dispatch.
Staff supervision and development
You will be responsible for managing a team of employees, so good man management and team leadership skills are essential as is the ability to mentor, train and motivate the team while maintaining a safe working environment.
Workflow \& Process
Our products are a combination of stock in palletised volume, and mixed consignments which are sorted by hand and repackaged before being entered into stock. Working with the sales director you will schedule and assign orders for pick, pack and preparation for dispatch including liaising with and arranging onward transport to customers or export shippers.
Health \& Safety
Manage site safety and enforce compliance of H\&S standards and regulations to maintain a secure and safe environment for staff, customers and visitors to the site.
Skills and Requirements
· Proven experience of a warehouse management role in a high volume or e\-commerce environment
· Strong team leadership abilities and experience of coaching and motivational skills to develop staff engagement and productivity
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· IT skills and proficiency of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Training will be given on our stock control system but a working knowledge of a warehouse management system would be beneficial
· A good working knowledge of health and safety regulation and procedures
· Certification : Ideally a forklift licence or previous experience
· Full UK driving licence
What We Offer
· This is a Full\-Time Position
· Salary £ 37,500 to £ 42,500 per annum
· Hours: Monday to Friday 40 \- 45 hour week
