Warehouse Manager – Ecommerce
100,000 sq ft warehouse \| 35\+ team \| 70\+ at peak \| Up to 15,000 orders per day
We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take ownership of a busy, fast\-paced ecommerce warehouse.
This is a hands\-on role. We need someone who is as comfortable leading people on the warehouse floor as they are sitting down with Excel, systems and performance data.
We don't just want someone to keep the warehouse running. We want someone who can improve it.
What you'll be responsible for
- Leading and developing a warehouse team of 35\+ people, increasing significantly at peak
- Managing and developing our Warehouse Supervisors and senior team
- Making sure thousands of customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time
- Planning labour against order volumes and keeping staffing costs under control
- Building and managing meaningful warehouse KPIs
- Using Excel, WMS and operational data to understand what's actually happening in the warehouse
- Measuring productivity across picking, packing and other warehouse functions
- Identifying poor performance and taking action to improve it
- Creating clear training plans, processes and standards for new and existing staff
- Developing good people into future team leaders and supervisors
- Planning ahead for seasonal peaks when volumes and staffing can double
- Improving warehouse processes, layout and efficiency
- Maintaining stock accuracy and investigating recurring issues
- Managing courier collections and ensuring sufficient capacity
- Maintaining high standards of health \& safety
- Working closely with the wider business to plan incoming stock, promotions and changing order volumes
You don't need to come from exactly the same business as us.
You do need to have managed a sizeable team in a busy warehouse, fulfilment or distribution environment and be able to show us how you've improved it.
We're particularly interested in someone who is:
- Very good with people – able to motivate, develop and manage performance
- Strong with Excel and systems – comfortable working with large amounts of operational data
- KPI driven – able to create KPIs, understand what the numbers are telling you and take action
- Good at training and development – able to put proper training structures in place
- Commercially minded – understands that productivity and labour costs directly affect the bottom line
- Hands\-on – visible in the warehouse and willing to get involved
- Calm under pressure – able to make good decisions when volumes suddenly change
- Always looking for improvements rather than accepting "that's how we've always done it"

Pay: £40,000\.00\-£44,000\.00 per year
