Warehouse Manager
The Role
We are looking for a hands\-on Warehouse Manager to lead the day\-to\-day running of our busy warehouse operation.
This role is primarily responsible for ensuring stock is received, organised, picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently, while maintaining high standards across the department.
In addition, the role will provide light\-touch oversight of the customer service function through an established supervisor, ensuring continuity during holidays, absence and peak trading periods.
The successful candidate will lead by example, improve processes, develop the team and help deliver excellent service across the business.
What will you do?
Warehouse Operations
- Manage the smooth day\-to\-day running of the warehouse
- Oversee goods in, put\-away, replenishment, picking, packing and dispatch
- Accurate booking in of all stock received onto the system
- Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain clean, safe and organised working areas
- Prioritise workload effectively during busy trading periods
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly
- Lead, motivate and organise the warehouse team
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor productivity
- Support recruitment, training and development
- Manage attendance, punctuality and performance standards
- Build a positive, hardworking and accountable team culture
- Provide overall line management support to the Customer Service Supervisor
- Ensure continuity of service during holidays or absence
- Support escalated customer queries where required
- Review workload and service standards periodically
- Encourage strong communication between customer service and warehouse teams
- Maintain high standards of stock accuracy
- Investigate discrepancies, damages and missing items
- Lead stock counts and stock checks
- Ensure all stock movements are processed correctly
- Work closely with store, buying and ecommerce teams
- Ensure timely replenishment for the shop floor
- Help resolve fulfilment or stock issues promptly
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Review warehouse layout and working practices
- Introduce practical process improvements where appropriate
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
- Maintain strong housekeeping standards
- Report and address hazards promptly
- Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Hands\-on approach with willingness to support the team
- Good organisational and problem\-solving ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using stock systems and basic reporting tools
- Calm under pressure with a positive attitude
- Retail or ecommerce fulfilment experience
- Experience managing small teams
- Experience overseeing customer service functions
- Health \& Safety knowledge or training
