Job Overview
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient flow of goods from receipt through storage, stock control, order fulfilment, and dispatch. The role leads and develops the warehouse team, ensuring high standards of safety, organisation, accuracy, and productivity are maintained at all times. The successful candidate will have previous experience managing a warehouse operation and supervising warehouse personnel, with strong organisational and leadership skills.

Duties

  • Manage the day\-to\-day warehouse operation, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of goods.

  • Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, performance management, and support to maintain a high\-performing team.

  • Plan and organise warehouse activities to ensure workloads are completed efficiently and customer requirements are met.

  • Maintain accurate stock control and inventory management processes, ensuring all stock movements are correctly recorded within the ERP system.

  • Take ownership of all warehouse and transport documentation, including CMRs, customs clearance paperwork, import/export documents, delivery notes, and proof of delivery, ensuring compliance with transport regulations and customer requirements.

  • Monitor warehouse performance, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and service levels.

  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing goods are checked against delivery documentation and quality standards.

  • Oversee order picking, packing, and dispatch activities to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer and internal requirements.

  • Manage warehouse layout and storage locations to maximise space utilisation and maintain an organised working environment.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the warehouse.

  • Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks.

  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, and transport activities to support operational requirements and customer expectations.

  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, operational issues, and customer service concerns relating to warehouse activities.

  • Produce and maintain warehouse reports, KPIs, and operational records, providing regular updates to senior management.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, implementing processes and best practices to enhance warehouse performance.

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards, ensuring the warehouse remains clean, safe, secure, and well organised at all times.

  • Work closely with production, supply chain, customer service, and other departments to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or similar leadership role.

  • Demonstrable experience managing warehouse operations and leading teams of warehouse personnel.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management abilities.

  • Experience with stock control, inventory management, and ERP/WMS systems.

  • Good understanding of warehouse health and safety requirements and best practices.

  • Forklift and Reach Truck licences preferred.

  • Strong problem\-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Competent IT skills, including warehouse management and Microsoft Office systems.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast\-paced environment
