Wage: £35,000 \- £42,000 (\+discretionary bonus) \- dependent upon experience
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the efficient day\-to\-day operation of our warehouse in Melton Mowbray.
This is a hands\-on leadership role, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, whilst maintaining high standards of productivity, accuracy and customer service.
You will lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team, oversee inventory and stock management, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the warehouse, ensuring efficient workflows and achievement of operational targets.
- Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team, ensuring colleagues have the skills and knowledge required to perform effectively.
- Take responsibility for stock management, including Goods In / Goods Out accuracy, space planning and stock checks using the Warehouse Management System (WHMS).
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with relevant legislation, regulations, safety codes and company policies.
- Complete and maintain daily, monthly and annual health and safety checks and records, ensuring a safe, clean and well\-organised working environment.
- Manage operational budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation and cost control.
- Lead quality assurance activity to ensure service standards and customer KPIs are achieved, including product testing.
- Recruit, manage and develop permanent and agency staff, working closely with HR.
- Develop operational processes, best\-practice materials and guides, and deliver training to relevant stakeholders.
- Work with HR to ensure training matrices remain relevant and up to date.
- Maintain full engagement with the CRM system, ensuring relevant documentation and communications are accurately recorded and filed.
We are looking for someone with strong warehouse and logistics experience who can lead a team effectively while remaining organised, analytical and adaptable in a busy operational environment.
You will have:
- Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management.
- Strong leadership and people\-management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time\-management skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 packages.
- Expert knowledge and experience of Warehouse Management Systems (WHMS).
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and warehouse best practice.
- In\-depth experience across all aspects of logistics.
- Experience of fulfilment, kitting and project work.
- A clean UK driving licence, as this is a multi\-site role.
- Counterbalance and/or flexi forklift and scissor lift licences are preferable but not essential.
