Warehouse & Logistics Manager
CFM is a UK based contract furniture manufacturer employing around 90 people across three sites in Pontefract and Castleford. We specialise in designing and manufacturing high quality furniture for the care home sector and are proud to manufacture in the UK.
Due to continued business requirements, we are recruiting an experienced Warehouse \& Logistics Manager to lead warehouse, despatch, placement and transport operations from our Castleford site.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Warehouse \& Logistics Manager will be overall responsible for the effective, compliant and efficient management of all warehouse and logistics activities. The role plays a key part in ensuring finished goods are stored and delivered safely, cost effectively, and on time and in full, while supporting production flow and customer satisfaction.
This is a hands on management role, combining operational leadership, transport compliance, people management and continuous improvement. Strong people management skills essential
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day to day warehouse operations including goods in/out, storage, stock control, picking, packing, despatch and placement, ensuring accurate finished goods allocation through continuous stock control and investigation of variances
- Maintain and improve warehouse layout, space utilisation, processes, procedures, documentation and systems (including Sage 200\) to support efficient operations
- In conjunction with Transport Manager, plan, coordinate and manage all outbound deliveries to meet customer deadlines using both company owned vehicles and third party transport providers
- In conjunction with Transport Manager, lead, manage and develop Warehouse, Despatch, Placement and Transport teams, including staffing levels, training, performance management, holidays, absence and disciplinary matters
- Ensure team capabilities support current and future business needs while promoting a positive, safety focused and accountable culture
- Ensure compliance with health \& safety legislation and company policies through risk assessments, safe systems of work, incident investigation, reporting, audit support and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proven experience in a Warehouse, Logistics or Transport Management role within an operational environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse systems, stock control and transport compliance
- Experience managing teams and operational performance
- Confident IT skills and excellent organisational and communication skills
- Bonus Scheme \- Discretionary bonuses are awarded twice annually, typically around 10% of the annual base salary. Eligibility begins after completion of one full financial year of continuous employment.
