Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations from 3am early morning start including materials handling, shipping and receiving, and stock management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic logistics environment, contributing to the efficient movement of goods and maintaining high standards of quality control. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, along with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Duties

• Handle materials efficiently, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and stock replenishment


• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (training provided)


• Manage shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory updates using warehouse management systems


• Assist in loading and unloading Vans , ensuring items are moved securely and efficiently


• Conduct quality control checks to maintain product standards


• Support stock organisation and replenishment activities to optimise storage space


• Perform mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance as needed


• Ensure the workspace remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable


• Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous (training can be provided)


• Knowledge of warehouse management systems or inventory software is beneficial


• Experience in shipping \& receiving, picking \& packing, stocking, or quality control will be considered an asset


• Physical capability for heavy lifting and load/unload operations is essential


• Mechanical knowledge or skills related to warehouse machinery will be viewed favourably

This role requires a dedicated individual with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.

Pay: From £13\.00 per hour
