Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient handling of materials, and maintaining a safe and organised environment. Responsibilities

• Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas


• Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (training provided)


• Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements


• Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch or storage


• Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring documentation is correct and timely


• Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation


• Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards


• Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as required


• Ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all operational procedures


• Knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous; certification is a plus but not mandatory


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software is desirable


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently (up to 25kg)


• Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in stock management and order accuracy


• Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of basic maintenance tasks is beneficial


• Good physical fitness with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
