Position Statement

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager role is engaged with the handling of all stock coming in and going out of the warehouse, and managing of delivery runs and drivers. This role requires a high degree of conscientiousness and attention to detail in order to maintain the excellent customer service which our company has become known for. This role carries overall responsibility for the warehouse team and drivers on site at Leeds.

The role is also involved with customer collections, and therefore it is critical that the Warehouse Manager is of a friendly and helpful disposition due to the customer facing engagements.

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is an important role at Parc Supplies as it is involved at the last stage of the customer’s order before despatch, where accuracy and presentation is key.

Warehouse and Logistics Manager Responsibilities

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is an important position within the team and has some wide\-reaching responsibilities within the department including but not limited to:

Team Leadership and Supervision
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager holds overall responsibility for the performance, conduct, and standards of the warehouse team, directly supervising staff to ensure they are properly directed, trained, and supervised on a day\-to\-day basis. This includes signing off on onboarding and training for new starters, acting as the escalation point for issues the team members are unable to resolve, and having accountability for health \& safety compliance across the warehouse and yard.

  • Goods In and Put Away
All goods in have to be offloaded and checked against the Supplier’s delivery note for accuracy and damage. Any discrepancies must be noted on the Delivery Notes. Once offloaded and checked, the goods must be placed in the correct location for retrieval when picking
  • Booking in Goods\-in onto Computer System
Upon receipt of deliveries, the Warehouse and Logistics Manager will print off Put\-Away sheets to be used to put stock in relevant bins. Once put away, the goods in has to be posted onto the system thus booking all stock in to correct bin locations.
  • Order Picking
Orders must be picked quickly and efficiently, whilst taking great diligence to avoid any pick errors. The accuracy of picks is directly impacted by the accuracy of put\-aways so these two aspects are closely linked. All orders must be packed neatly and securely to prevent damage or disturbance during transit
  • Equipment maintenance and Visual checks
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible to carry out basic daily maintenance and visual checks on all equipment.
  • Despatch and Van routing
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible to decide on the most cost effective and efficient method of despatch for each order. If the goods are despatched via third party carrier, the paperwork must be completed accurately prior to despatch. If the goods are being despatched on own fleet, the deliveries must be routed using the available software to create run lists for the drivers. All delivery notes must be generated from the ERP system prior to despatch.
  • Van loading
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is required to assist the drivers with the safe loading of vehicles daily. This involves selecting the orders in the correct order as per the delivery schedule, checking the orders for pick\-accuracy, and loading onto the vans.
  • Carrier paperwork and data entry
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible to accurately input consignment data into the carrier website, print off paperwork and labels, and affix to parcels accordingly.
  • Paperwork filing
All paperwork must be filed carefully or scanned onto the server as appropriate.
  • Warehouse and Yard housekeeping and maintenance
The warehouse and yard must be kept tidy and presentable at all times, with all waste materials placed in the appropriate bins. This includes snow clearing as required in the Winter months.
  • Delivery Route Planning and Managing Drivers
The van routes and delivery schedules must be put together on a daily basis using our delivery management software, ensuring that runs are as efficient as possible, and that deliveries are executed on time and in full and that specific delivery date requests are adhered to.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing a team, either directly or through a supervisor/team leader

  • Warehouse Management Systems experience ideally with Clarus WMS

  • Previous experience with driving Flexi/bendi trucks

  • Responsible, self\-motivated and accountable

  • Can\-do attitude with a solution\-minded approach

  • Ability to self\-manage, time\-manage and task manage diligently

  • Consistently completing tasks without follow\-up

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Proactive and enthusiastic
